About Acupuncture

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a practice wherein a trained professional will stimulate the specific points on the body by inserting some thin needles into the skin.

It can treat a lot of diseases, stress-related symptoms and pains such as nausea, migraine headache, anxiety, depression, insomnia, infertility and etc. It also improves the body functions and promotes the natural self-healing process.

Community Acupuncture

What is Community Acupuncture?

Firstly there’s no difference in the outcomes between Standard Acupuncture and Community Acupuncture. You will receive the same level of treatment and care. The only major difference is the experience as Community Acupuncture is provided in a shared environment.

This has its benefits, namely there are no appointment times needed (arrive any time within opening hours). The main advantage of Community Acupuncture is the low treatment fee, only$25 which makes having Acupuncture extremely accessible.

When you arrive for an acupuncture session you will be given a space to relax either a chair or a massage table. The acupuncturist will come along and assess your condition, work out a treatment plan and then provide the appropriate treatment. Peaceful music is playing and the ambiance in the treatment room allows for a relaxing experience.

Community Acupuncture ticks all the boxes

  • Low treatment fee

  • Provides all the benefits of a normal Acupuncture session

  • Gives you access to regular low cost health care

  • Your treatments are provided by a qualified acupuncturist with 10 years clinical experience

Community Acupuncture gives you access to low cost treatment and therefore you are more likely to meet the needs of your complaint and success in your recovery.

History

China socialised medicine throughout the ages and group acupuncture is still practiced there in many of the Traditional Medicine Hospitals. However in the West social medicine is still a relatively new concept.

Object

The object of Community/Group Acupuncture is that the community setting creates a powerful healing environment. As social beings we quickly pick up on the mood of a room or group of people. In the community treatment room most people quickly enter into a deep state of rest, relaxation and healing.

Because we are so often isolated from one another in our everyday lives, we may not be tuned into energy exchanges. WE are taught to value our privacy, especially when we are ill or in pain. We just want to be left alone, but by seeking ways to connect with the healing energies of others we are able to utilize the energy to enhance healing.

The reasons most people seek acupuncture treatment are for pain, depression/emotional issues and various other forms of suffering. All of these symptoms serve to isolate us in one way or another. While peacefully resting with strategically placed needles in our bodies alongside others doing the same, we acknowledge that we are all in this together, that we are not separate and ultimately when we are unified we can achieve and accomplish things far beyond what we could ever imagine on our own.
